Building body appreciation and resilience in dancers

An evidence-based, peer-led programme that helps change dance culture and the unrealistic body ideals, adapted from The Body Project for the studio, the mirror and the stage.

What it is

A conversation, not a lecture

Built on cognitive dissonance

Through guided discussion and activities, dancers voluntarily speak and act against the "ideal" body, which will have less influence over time.

Adapted for dancers

Reworked around the realities dancers live with daily: mirrors, costume, casting, aesthetic feedback and the pressure to look a certain way.

Peer-led & small group

Delivered by trained facilitators in small, supportive groups across a short series of sessions. They are safe, warm and led by the dancers themselves.

Who it's for

Anywhere dancers train

If your dancers are growing up surrounded by mirrors and high expectations, the programme is for them. We work with groups aged 18 and up.
